The countdown has started, and what better gift to give Dad than the gift of beer? What, you think he wants socks? Well sure, we could all use socks. But why not give something educational, delicious, and best of all, alcoholic? And have we got the event for you: a Single Hop IPA tasting at our WhichCraft Mueller location with the Beer Museum on Tuesday, June 13, from 7-8pm.
Called Style Night, we’ll be sampling five different Single Hop IPAs, all from different breweries, and tasting the nuances, similarities, and differences of style. This unique event will be hosted by WhichCraft’s own Lindsay Compton, a Certified Cicerone, providing in-depth knowledge about the hops used in each Single Hop IPA, and talking about hop anatomy, alpha and beta acids, and much more. Follow the link to reserve your spot now. Confirmed beers so far: Martin House Cellarman’s Reserve IPA, Lone Pint Yellow Rose, Lone Pint Zythophile Lone Hop Series: Ella, and Last Stand Citra SMaSH.

Stone Enjoy By 7.4.17 – You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers – especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs – Stone has taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA: they specifically brewed it NOT to last. They’ve not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you’re getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, they made sure that the Enjoy By date isn’t randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the bottle, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and beer fans. Instead, they’ve sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA. 9.4% ABV / Escondido, CA / RateBeer 100 / Availability: Limited
Destihl Blueberry Gose – Their Wild Sour: Here Gose Nothin’ with blueberries added, which unites another layer of fruity complexity in this sour ale already known for its tart, citrusy, lime-like qualities, slight spicy note from added coriander, and a noticeable mineral mouthfeel from added sea salt harvested from the shores of France. 5.2% ABV / Bloomington, IL / BeerAdvocate 84 / Availability: Good
Cascade Brewing Noyaux – This one-of-a-kind NW sour is a blend of Belgian strong blondes aged in white port barrels with raspberries, then blended with select barrels of strong blondes that were aged on the toasted meat from the apricot nut, or Noyeaux. 8.9% ABV / Portland, OR / RateBeer 100 / Availability: Limited / SoLa Only
The Bruery Share This: OC – A rich, imperial stout infused with orange-chocolate flavors from orange zest, vanilla, and TCHO cacao nibs. For every bottle produced, California-based charity Food Forward receives one dollar. 11% ABV / Anahem, CA / RateBeer 93 / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only
The Bruery Goses Are Red – This is a rosé – and a gose – by any other name. Goses are Red is a stylish match of a funky, crisp, and tart gose with the soft sweetness of a rosé wine. The refreshing wheat-based beer begins with some of the qualities you’d expect from a gose, including coriander spicing and a light saltiness to complement the tartness imparted by house cultures. But the story doesn’t end there – it builds in complexity, thanks to time spent in an oak foeder and the addition of grapes, which impart a refreshing rosé character and color. 5.3% ABV / Anaheim, CA / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only
The Bruery Sans Pagaie – French for “without a paddle,” Sans Pagaie is their take on a Belgian Kriek. An incredible amount of cherries are added to this sour blonde ale, resulting in a well-balanced, fruited sour ale, perfect on its own, even better with a slice of chocolate cake. Cellarable for up to 3 years. 5.8% ABV / Anaheim, CA / RateBeer 97 / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only
The Bruery Terreux Frucht: Passionfruit – Known for a tart flavor profile and traditionally low ABV, this Berliner-Weisse gains even more funky notes and natural earthy-woodiness from its fermentation in the large oak foeder vessel. This installment adds passion fruit, which escalates the tartness, tropicality, and palate-cleansing prowess of the base beer. 4.3% ABV / Anaheim, CA / RateBeer 96 / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only
Collective Brewing Project Pineapple Thai Basil Petite Golden Sour – Their golden sour with pineapple and Thai basil. The Thai basil shines through and the pineapple provides a nice fruit backbone that makes this one kickass beer to pair with food. 4.5% ABV / Ft. Worth, TX / Availability: Limited / SoLa Only
Collective Brewing Project Brett SMaSHY – Single Malt (Maris Otter) and Single Hop (Columbus) make up this dank American IPA. 6.6% ABV / Ft. Worth, TX / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only

Friends & Allies Urban Chicken – Perfect for the oncoming summer, this saison has spice, zest, but is light and crisp. 4.9% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Decent

Live Oak Berliner Weisse – Berliner Weisse is a special beer that undergoes bacterial fermentation to naturally produce lactic acid which contributes a delicious, lemony tartness. This traditional wheat ale, made famous in the nineteenth century in the city of Berlin, features a bready malt character, low bitterness, and effervescent carbonation. Clean, tart, and quenching, this beer is available in limited quantities to be enjoyed. 3.2% ABV / Austin, TX / RateBeer 95 / Availability: Decent

Community Witbier – Community Wit is a warm-weather libation, produced locally for fellow Texans. Brewed traditionally using unmalted wheat as their base, and lightly spicing the kettle with freshly-ground sweet and bitter orange peel and coriander seed. The hops are minimal, keeping the focus on the wheat, spices, and the unique character contributed by authentic Belgian yeast strains. Dallas, TX / BeerAdvocate 86
Pinthouse Pizza Bearded Seal – Bearded Seal is a stronger, bolder version of a traditional dry Irish Stout, however not quite an Imperial Stout. Whereas other dry Irish Stouts come in at less than 5% ABV, Bearded Seal comes in at 6.1% ABV., capturing the intensity of a higher ABV beer yet remaining drinkable and complex. Pleasant herbal character shines through from the generous hop addition playing off the rich coffee and chocolate notes. The flavor of this beer begins roasty and intense, and then finishes soft and clean with a refreshingly smooth, dry finish. 6.1% ABV / Austin, TX / RateBeer 88
Zilker Anniversary IPA – Brewed in Celebration of their 2nd Anniversary Party. Tropical pineapple dankness with low bitterness. 6.8% ABV / Austin, TX
Lakewood Barrel-Aged Raspberry Temptress – 2017 vintage. Lakewood has gracefully matured their popular Seduction Series release in Breckenridge Distillery bourbon barrels, adding further complexity and depth of flavor. A luscious love triangle of tart raspberry, rich chocolate, and boozy bourbon play together in your glass. 13% ABV / Garland, TX
Redhorn More Better Milkshake IIPA- Hazy, soft, juicy, bright, and refreshing. More Better Double IPA is a unique IPA inspired by the beers made by certain brewers in the Philly area. Brewed with tons of oats, flaked wheat, lactose sugar, pureed apples and raspberries, and finished off with just a touch grapefruit juice…oh, and let’s not forget the copious amounts of Citra, Mosaic, and Azacca hops. A juicy creaminess, a touch sweet balanced with a subtle bitter, and layers of red berries, citrus, and tropical fruit notes make this Double IPA something to sip and ponder. 8.3% ABV / Cedar Park, TX
Lone Pint Knecht Ruprecht IV – A chocolate coffee milk stout. Rich, delicious coffee from Houston’s Southside Espresso, freshly roasted Venezuelan cocoa nibs, and a touch of milk sugar marry beautifully with this American Stout. 7% ABV / Magnolia, TX
