We’re starting the weekend early at South Lamar on Friday. From 2-4 pm, we’re hosting Mike with Collective Brewing Project for some samples of their sour suds, including their Cup o’ Beer. As if you needed a reason to duck out early. And after, head north to Mueller to partake in our evening sampling with Community Brewing. We’ll be tapping their Texas Helles and Yessir! Pale Ale. Will we see you there? Yessir!
And when you drop in to either location, make sure to pick up one of our specials, whether that be our Brewery of the Month or any other weekly deal. They make great impulse buys and look magnificent next to the already stellar brews you’re buying from us. Scroll down (after reading everything, of course) to see what we’re offering.
Finally, make your plans now to come visit us at Art of the Brew on Saturday, September 2, when art, music, and craft beer collide. We won’t have the dunk tank again, but we will have a booth, so come by and say hi while you’re taking in all the fantastic sights, sounds, and of course, beer. Tickets and info can be found at their website.

Copperhead Athena – Athena is deceptive. Light in color and body, it’s very easy to drink. It hides the 8.6% ABV very well. Brewed with only Belgian pilsner malt and hopped with Herkules, East Kent Goldings, and Czech Saaz hops. It’s their take on a traditional Belgian golden strong ale. 8.6% ABV / Conroe, TX / Availability: Good
Community Yessir! – Hop-forward, lighter bodied ale featuring Lemon Drop & Eureka hops for a refreshingly unique take on the classic American Pale Ale. 5.2% ABV / Dallas, TX / BeerAdvocate 89 / Availability: Good
NOLA Brewing Humid Nature – This collaboration with Modern Times is a wild ale with blood orange, LA sweets, and pineapple. 8% ABV / New Orleans, LA / Availability: Decent
NOLA Brewing Irish Channel Stout – This American style stout has sweet malt flavors of caramel and chocolate, complimented by a crisp bitterness produced by roasted barley and American hops. The complex malt bill of pale and roasted malts result in this well balanced stout that is smooth, rich, dark and delicious! 6.8% ABV / New Orleans, LA / RateBeer 92 / Availability: Good
NOLA Brewing Mechahopzilla – For some people, hops belong on the basketball court and IBUs should run like shoe sizes. This beer is not for those people. This one’s for the hop hungry. This is their monster, hoppy and heady: an American Imperial IPA with a unique combination of four different hops and a half-pound-per-barrel, dry-hop process resulting in a powerful flavor that’s not for the faint of heart. 8.8% ABV / New Orleans, LA / BeerAdvocate 86 / Availability: Decent
NOLA Brewing 7th Street Wheat – The light citrus taste with a hint of spicy herb on the back is named in honor of the 7th Street wharf across the street from the brewery. This filtered wheat ale is light-bodied American style with pounds of fresh lemon-basil added after fermentation. 4.5% ABV / New Orleans, LA / BeerAdvocate 84 / Availability: Good
NOLA Brewing Piety Cherry Sour – 100% Lacto/Brett fermented sour ale with tart cherries. Piety ale is chery pie mixed to a bounce beat. Lactobacillus and Brettanomyces make Piety sour and funky, while the red wine barrel aging and tart cherries show off its sweet and sassy side. 4.1% ABV / New Orleans, LA / RateBeer 96 / Availability: Limited
Pedernales Robert Earl Keen River Raft – Refreshing and perfect for mowing the lawn and those hot summer days. 4% ABV / Fredericksburg, TX / Availability: Good / SoLa Only
Pedernales Lobo Oktoberfest – A limited release from Pedernales, with a nice dark caramel color and a good hop presence. 6.4% ABV / Fredericksburg, TX / BeerAdvocate 82 / Availability: Good / SoLa Only
Twisted X Gulf Kolsch – A sweet, grassy, yet lightly crisp malt and delicate spicy hops makes this a terrific, year-round, Hill Country beer. 5.1% ABV / Dripping Springs, TX / Availability: Good
Freetail Oktoberfiesta – Like the traditional Oktoberfests and Marzens of Germany, it is brewed with Pils, Munich, and Vienna malts along with the subtly earthy, herbal notes of European hops; but that is where tradition ends as they ferment with a Belgian yeast strain that likes to party as much as San Antonio, producing a big, fruity profile that both accentuates and transcends the malt and hops. Let the Oktoberfiesta begin! 6.2% ABV / San Antonio, TX / BeerAdvocate 84 / Availability: Good
Freetail San Antonio Pale Ale – All late hopped pale ale featuring Cascade and Crystal hops. 5.7% ABV / San Antonio, TX / Availability: Good

Pinthouse Pizza Electric Jellyfish – Brewed with some exciting hop varieties featuring Citra, Simcoe, Azacca, and Galaxy hops, Electric Jellyfish enjoys a bright tropical citrus character along with notes of orange, lemon, lychee, and a floral backbone. The Jellyfish is a hazy, new-school IPA focusing on the juicy hop flavor and aroma while keeping the bitterness balanced and refreshing. 6.5% ABV / Austin, TX / RateBeer 97
The Bruery Mischief – Belgian-style ale, golden and hoppy. Not quite evil, yet not to be trusted, this Golden Ale is effervescent, dry, hoppy and crisp; you’ll want to keep an eye out. 8.5% ABV / Placentia, CA / RateBeer 96
Schilling London Dry – Inspired by traditional London pub style cider, London dry is bright, crisp, apple-forward, and dry as a bone. 6.5% ABV / Seattle, WA
Community Texas Helles – A traditional German style lager that is bright, golden and crisp- perfect for warm weather craft beer drinking!
