WhichCraft Is Hiring, and Icepocalypse 2018!

Have you always wanted to work at your favorite local bottle shop: talking beer, selling beer, and sometimes sampling said beer? Now’s your chance! We’re looking for someone – or someones – to work part-time at both of our locations. Prior retail experience is helpful, though not necessary, but you must have a love of beer (and coffee) and be helpful, outgoing, and willing to learn. Email resumes to jody [at] whichcraftbeerstore.com.

And you’ll notice our incoming beer list is a little small this week. With the freeze and inclement weather, our deliveries got backed up a bit. We’re still getting new beers this week, it’s just up in the air as of this pressing. But stay tuned to our other social media or heck, just come in and see for yourself. There’s always something great happening at both locations. Oh, and plenty of beer for sale, too. Let’s not forget that. Keep reading below and get yourselves edumicated.

New Beers This Week

(All beer available at both WhichCraft locations unless otherwise noted)

Austin Beerworks Ski Jeans – ABW/Odell session IPA collab. Odell brought a giant bale of private hop stash, ABW brought a tank of liquid nitrogen. Together they shattered frozen hops in a radical collaboration. Made in Odell’s original brewhouse right here at Austin Beerworks, Ski Jeans is a celebration of heritage, hops, and terrible slope attire. 7.5% ABV / Austin, TX / Availability: Limited

Bell’s Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cherry Stout – Aged for up to 12 months in whiskey barrels, their signature Cherry Stout evolves into something even more flavorful and complex. Notes of oak, vanilla and dark chocolate are intertwined with tart Michigan cherries in a stout that seduces the palate. 9.3% ABV / Kalamazoo, MI / Availability: Decent

New Belgium Single Foeder Felix No. 61 – Golden sour ale. Big lemon, lime, and starfruit aromas dance with citric acidity and a slightly sweet finish. 8.5% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / Availability: Decent / Mueller Only

5 Stones Back from Bridge City – White IPA brewed with fresh grapefruit and coriander. Collaboration with Widmer Brothers. 6.3% ABV / New Braunfels, TX / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only

5 Stones Manmosa – American Wheat Ale brewed with fresh Oranges and Orange Zest. 5.8% ABV / New Braunfels, TX / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only

New Beers on Draft at WhichCraft Taproom

Full Draft List Available on our Website

Martin House Reverie – Sour ale with pomegranate. 5.2% ABV / Fort Worth, TX

Shacksbury Arlo – Aromatic, grapefruit, apple, and dry Apple varieties – A blend of eating apples from Sunrise Orchards in Vermont and European bittersweet apples Native yeast fermentation. 6.2% ABV / Shoreham, VT / Ratebeer 87 / Availability: Limited / SoLa Only

Odell Rupture – Rupture was born out of an obsession with getting the most out of each and every hop. In fact, they built a machine in their brewery to incorporate a unique fresh grind process. By grinding the whole hop, they “rupture” the lupulin inside – releasing the oil that gives the beer its flavor. And what they grind that day, they use that day. Leaving you a beer that’s fresh, aromatic, with an unparalleled bright, hoppy character. 6% ABV / Fort Collins, CO / RateBeer 94

Last Stand Saaz Blonde – A very light and refreshing blonde ale brewed with German pale malt, a touch of Munich malt and very lightly hopped with CZ Saaz hops. 5.8% ABV / Austin, TX

TX Keeper Ciderweizen -Made with witbiers and hefeweizens in mind. Their goal was to marry the underlying citrus and green apple notes of the Goldrush and Crispin apples with the lightly hopped and spiced character of old-world wheat beers. They used select yeast strains to accentuate the right fruit characters and dry hopped and dry-spiced the cider to finish. 7.4% ABV / Austin, TX

Weathered Souls Who’s Got the Juice Now? – A NE-style IPA with Citra, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops. 7.5% ABV / San Antonio, TX

Pinthouse Pizza Bailing Room IPA – Brewed with Simcoe, Mosaic, and Chinook hops, this dark tangerine-hued West Coast IPA boasts citrus, piney, and resinous notes. 7.2% ABV / Austin, TX

The Bruery Terreux Frucht: Passion Fruit – Known for a tart flavor profile and traditionally low ABV, this Berliner-Weisse gains even more funky notes and natural earthy-woodiness from its fermentation in the large oak foeder vessel. This installment adds passion fruit, which escalates the tartness, tropicality, and palate-cleansing prowess of the base beer. 4.3% ABV / Anaheim, CA / RateBeer 96

Oasis Saison-A-Fond – A dry-hopped, traditional, American saison with wheat and rye, except they did a non-traditional mixed fermentation, meaning they fermented with two yeasts: the Saison Dupont yeast strain and their house lager strain (a very unique combination!). This saison is a deep straw yellow color, hazy, and was dry hopped with Sorachi Ace, giving it a distinct bright lemon and fresh mint aroma. Served in a goblet, it looks and smells like a big beer, but drinks incredibly well. 6.3% ABV / Austin, TX
