#AvoidSXSW is in full effect, and we have some great events lined up to keep you away from the teeming masses. First, tonight from 5-8 at Mueller, we have Brazos Valley Brewing, pouring their Galaxy-hopped Lost Highway IPA. We’ll then rinse and repeat for the next day when we host Real Ale for a Buy the Beer, Keep the Glass special of their Grapefruit Gose. Or if you find yourself south, drop by Lamar, where we’ll have Adelbert’s, Left Hand, and an in-house tasting over the next three evenings.
Also, be sure to spend the rest of your days (and nights) at WhichCraft Mueller, we’ll have NCAA Happy Hour specials any time a tournament game is on. That’s a lot of games, and a lot of happy hours. Yay sportsball!
And by now, you may have noticed we started our 2018 WhichCraft Texas Tournament of Beers. We picked 32 beers from all around Texas, and the contest is now a go-go. We’ll be putting up new matchups almost every day (some more than others), starting with the IPA bracket and working our way down. Stay tuned to our Twitter and Facebook pages when each pairing goes live to vote on the outcome. New matchups will happen almost every day for just over two weeks as we whittle them down. Vote directly on our posts, and/or comment using the hashtag #WhichCraftMadness so we can better track it. First prize is a $25 WhichCraft Gift Card and two WhichCraft glasses, 2nd Prize is just the two glasses (just!?), and 3rd Prize is a hearty “Better luck next year” from all of us. Follow along, spread the word, and sway those votes for your favorite beer with each new matchup!

This isn’t beer for collecting, this is beer for drinking. 4.9% ABV / Chico, CA / Availability: Good
Altstadt Alt – Düsseldorf style Altbier. 4.8% ABV / Fredericksburg, TX / Availability: Good / SoLa Only

Rahr Paleta de Mango – Mango chile lime kolsch. 5.5% ABV / Fort Worth, TX / Availability: Good / SoLa Only
Southern Star Humidity Kolsch – Crisp and clean, this beer presents itself as a super quaffable session beer. Subtle classic barley flavors are balanced with soft bitterness and a pleasant slightly spicy hop nose and flavor. 5% ABV / Conroe, TX / Availability: Good
Southern Star Spring Pils – This pilsner is as German as they come! German hops, malt, and yeast make this brew delicious and refreshing. It’s a smooth drinking pilsner with and easy finish that’s perfect for Spring and sunshine filled activities. 5.3% ABV / Conroe, TX / Availability: Good
Stone Virtuale IPA – Escape into another world as you experience the intensity from this unique West-Coast IPA. Great Divide Woodwerks – A Belgian-style tripel artfully soured for 15 months in red-wine barrels and aged on plums. This rare spiced sour ale has notes of luscious stone fruit with a tart, dry finish and a hint of French oak. 9.3% ABV / Denver, CO / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only
Anchor Brewer’s Pale – A bright and fruity American Pale Ale bursting with hop aroma and flavor. Its appearance is straw colored with a creamy, white head and nice lacing. The ale has aromas of grapefruit, passion fruit, citrus peels and dank piney hops. It’s a crisp and quaffable pale ale packed with complex hop flavor, finishing fairly dry with a nice balanced drinkability. 5.3% ABV / San Francisco, CA / Availability: Good / SoLa Only
Alaskan SMaSH Galaxy – A balanced aroma gives intense passion fruit, light guava, and herbal notes similar to thyme, and hints of exotic citrus. The hop aroma is balanced by light honey notes that are characteristically associated with the malt of a crisp Pilsner. The flavor has an initial rush of tropical fruit and herbal notes that linger intensely. The Galaxy hops take center stage, and after several seconds the juicy hop notes are joined by the very intense bitterness typical of this Australian variety. 8.5% ABV / Juneau, AK / RateBeer 92 / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only
Buffalo Bayou Thin Mint – Sweet stout brewed with mint, Madagascar vanilla, and dark chocolate malt. 9.4% ABV / Houston, TX / Availability: Decent / SoLa Only
New Beers on Draft at WhichCraft Taproom
Full Draft List Available on our Website
Saint Arnold Divine Reserve 18 – They used a grain bill that required four times the amount of grain as Fancy Lawnmower, dosed in two additions of Belgian candi syrup during fermentation to provide an adrenaline shot to the yeast, and let the beer rest for three months before adding a small amount of Madagascar vanilla beans as an added layer of complexity. The beer pours a rich darkness – no light passes through – topped with a mocha colored head. The aroma is filled with molasses, vanilla, baker’s chocolate, and rich dark fruit from our house yeast. The flavor profile starts with rich chocolate and raspberries that are dipped in honey, then builds on dried dark cherry notes, and finishes with wine like silkiness. 13.4% ABV / Houston, TX
Two Wheel Art-Deco Altbier – An Old World style not often produced here. This German Style Altbier is a light bodied beer brewed with chocolate malt for a touch of roasted flavor. After fermentation, it is cold conditioned to let the malts and German hops shine through. This beer refreshes on hot days and is just as enjoyable on cool evenings. 5.4% ABV / Buda, TX
Independence Cowboys from Helles – Bright, golden lager brewed in the tradition of Munich lager. 4.6% ABV / Austin, TX
Buffalo Bayou Great White Buffalo – Complex yet sessionable, it’s a fully committed, uncompromising Wit that finishes dry and crisp with the yeast driving the flavor. It’s a very straight-forward traditional Belgian beer. 5.8% ABV / Houston, TX
Brazos Valley Lost Highway – A light and refreshing IPA, Galaxy hops add mellow tropical flavors and aroma, balanced with just enough malt to create a subtle bitter finish. 6.9% ABV / Brenham, TX
Ballast Point Peanut Butter Victory at Sea – Smooth peanut butter meets dark coffee in this roasty porter. This Peanut Butter Victory at Sea is a nutty version of our popular imperial porter. We took our trademark robust porter brewed with Caffè Calabria coffee and vanilla and added peanut butter, adding another level to this roasty, flavorful beer. 10% ABV / San Diego, CA / RateBeer 97
(512) SXSWit – Made in the style of the Belgian wheat beers that are so refreshing, (512) Wit is a hazy ale spiced with organic coriander and grapefruit peel. This variation has raspberries added to it. 5.2% ABV / Austin, TX
