New Beers This Week
Rodenbach Vintage 2012 – Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. The apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine. 7% ABV/Roeselare, Belgium/Ratebeer 100
Lagunitas Sucks – Back in 2011 amidst brewery expansion and unforeseen construction delays realized they couldn’t brew their beloved Brown Shugga. So they brewed this beer instead and consumers liked it so much they made it part of their year-round lineup. In incredible 32-oz quart bottles! 7.85% ABV/Petaluma, CA/Ratebeer 99
Deep Ellum Four Swords – The latest seasonal release from Deep Ellum is a Belgain-style quadruple with a big surge of fruity esters on the nose. Hints of bubblegum, spices and stone fruits. lead to a full bodied malt profile, laced with caramel and dark fruit flavors. 9.5% ABV/Dallas, TX/Ratebeer 92
St Arnold Icon Red – A classic dubbel with a twist. This beer is led by a bold and complex Belgian yeast character with a strong malt backbone that delivers tones of dark fruits and raisins. Finishing off with an untraditional hopping of the Japanese hop Sorachi Ace rounds out the flavor and aroma of this beer with a creamy lemon character complementing the yeast and malt and creating a truly unique, enjoyable beer. 7.9% ABV/Houston, TX/No ratings yet
Southern Star Pine Belt Pale Ale – This handcrafted American Pale Ale is brewed in small batches using high quality American two row, choice British crystal malts, select hops and deep-well ground water from the Evangeline Aquifer. Non-filtered, never pasteurized this ale is packaged directly into cans to ensure maximum freshness for your enjoyment. 6.3% ABV/Conroe, TX/Ratebeer 90
St Sebastiaan Dark & Grande Reserve – Coming in sturdy 16-oz swing top glazed ceramic bottles, the 2 releases from St Sebastiaan are both excellent Belgian imports brewed in the abbey tradition. The Dark is a dubbel and the Grande Reserve is Belgian strong pale ale only brewed once a year. 6.9% and 10% ABV respectively/Meer, Belgium
De Proef Witte Noire – Imperial amber wheat beer with a deep amber/chestnut color and an off-white head. Roasty & chocolaty aromas with a hint of spice.. Wheat lightens the body and clove-like spice notes are present on the finish. 7.5% ABV/Lochristi, Belgium/Ratebeer 88

St Feuillien Speciale – Speciale is dark brown, very full bodied and very flavorful. Aromas and flavors of fig, date and currants mingle with allspice, cinnamon and cocoa on the palate and in the nose. Speciale is the pinnacle of the brewing art at St. Feuillien. It’s brewed in the middle of the year, aged for a minimum of 6 weeks in cold tanks and then bottle conditioned in the warm room for 2 more weeks. 9% ABV/Le Roeulx, Belgium/Ratebeer 87
