Thinkery will be celebrating Women in STEAM with a very special Two Scientists Walk into a Bar event on March 12 from 6-8 pm! It sounds like the opening line of a joke. But it’s a unique opportunity for Austin adults (and kids) to engage with the local scientific community at bars and restaurants in their own neighborhoods. During Two Scientists Walk Into a Bar Thinkery sends pairs of (women) scientists out to different bars and restaurants, where the public is invited to ask them questions in an informal, relaxed setting. No lengthy lectures here, just interesting, educational conversation! Bring the kids, pull up a barstool, have a couple of drinks and pick the brains of some friendly local scientists!
